7 months

Sawyer Blake is 7 months old!
-Wearing size 2 diapers
-Size 6-9 month clothes
-Eating a bottle every 4 hours except at night, you sleep from about 9pm-7am
-I'm still making your baby food, although I haven't been on top of my game lately introducing new foods. I think the only new things this month have been white potatoes, squash & pear. You are not sure about the little strawberry flavored stars or Baby Mum Mum's for snacks but you love french fries!
-You are sitting up by yourself, unsupported. You can't quite get up to sitting position on your own yet though.
-You are still rolling all around.
-Just over the past week, you have started getting up on all fours! I have a feeling that in next months post I'll be reporting that you are actually crawling.
-You have been a little more clingy with mommy this month (I don't mind at all!)
-You are so, so silly! You will laugh & grin at just about anybody that talks to you but you do some serious giggling when MiMi & Nana talk to you!
- I still think you are a spitting image of daddy, but several people lately have said they think you look a little like me!
-Your hair is oh so precious! Thin, fine & blonde :)
-You fighting sleep is probably THE most stressful thing ever! Once you're out though, you're out. You have slept all night, every night in your crib this month. However, you still like sleeping face down which causes mommy to have severe anxiety!
-You have started waving your hands & fingers at us when you want picked up.
-Daddy raised your walker up to the highest level & you are still zooming all over the house!
-You love to get kisses...
...and give kisses...
-You fell off mommy & daddy's bed this month :(  I wanted to die when it happened! It knocked the breath out of you & scared you, but thankfully you were not hurt at all.
-We read you books most everynight before bed. The 3 we read are: I Love You More, Llama Llama Nighty Night, & The Barnyard Dance -this is your fave because daddy is SO SO silly when he reads it to you!
-Still no teeth & no real signs of teething other than drooling & wanting to put everything in your mouth still.
-You're able to sit up in the big boy high chair when we go out to eat. You play with your toys on the table & eat snacks...you haven't acted up so badly in public that we've had to leave anywhere - YET! Ha!
Sawyer boy -  Daddy & I love you so very much! Seeing your sweet smile every morning makes my heart SO, SO happy.

Summertime

Summer is NOT my favorite, for no reason other than I just don't like being hot. In honor of the first official day of summer on Wednesday though, I will share a few of the things I do like about this season...

Our plants & flowers...
Check out this post to see how much our plants have grown since the spring!
My lawn boy & his assistant...
Fireworks on the 4th of July...
Fresh, homegrown vegetables from our parents...
I'm really loving some Razorback baseball right now! WPS!!
Playing outside on nice evenings with my sweet boy...
And, although it has nothing to do with summer, I am super pumped about my iPad case that arrived today...

iPad/iPhone Picture Dump

We take TONS of pictures with our phones or the iPad simply because they are always close at hand. Here are some of my faves from the past several weeks....

Catch Up

I've got some MAJOR updating to do here. Get comfortable.
The week following Mother's Day, I was off work on Thurs/Fri to celebrate mine & Blake's 4 year wedding anniversary. We had originally planned to go out of town for a night or two but some things came up & we never made any reservations so we just stayed home to enjoy a long weekend. I'm so thankful we didn't go out of town though! Let me explain...
Thursday the 17th was our actual anniversary & we went out for a sushi dinner date. We had a very nice time out together while Sawyer stayed with Mema & Papaw. About 11:30 Thursday night, I got a call from my Nana, she said my mom was at her house, had extremely high blood pressure & was having pain in her arms & chest. I knew my mom was having a heart attack so I immediately got in the car & went to get her. I did not want her going to our local hospital for cardiac care, so I drove her, along with my sister, to the ER at Baptist. I literally drove 90-100mph, with my gas gauge on E all the way to the hospital. Its funny now, but that seemed like the longest drive ever! My sister & I prayed the whole time - one of us praying for our mom & the other praying that we didn't run out of gas! Luckily we made it & after a brief confrontation with the admissions staff in the ER (they were arguing with another patients family member rather than checking my mom in & when I told them whatever they were arguing about could wait until later, they told me to "calm down"), & security (he told my sister that I couldn't boss people around just because I worked there) my mom was finally getting the care she needed! We spent the rest of the night in the ER where lab work confirmed that my mom had indeed had a heart attack. She was admitted to the hospital for additional tests, which thankfully, all came back normal. We are so happy that she is feeling better. We love her SO SO much!!

On Saturday the 19th, a local western store had their annual customer appreciation day cookout. They had craw fish, bbq & beer, country bands & door prizes. We go every year & it is always so much fun!
Last year, I was 3 months pregnant @ this event. It was so fun having this little guy dancing to the music with us this year!
***
We spent most of Memorial Day weekend here-
We also did a lot of eating that weekend too!
On Sunday night, we went to watch the fireworks in Little Rock. We kind of thought Sawyer might freak out from the noise, but he was so good! His eyes were glued to the sky the entire time!
He loves fireworks just like his momma :)
***
Last Friday night, we went to Amber's birthday party. Sawyer got to hang out with his lady baby friends Payton & Bailey & the newest baby girl, Sweet Ava!
Sawyer looks so big next to these pretty, petite baby girls!
These two had a moment...
SO SWEET!!
Playing footsie :)
 LOVE
I got lazy with the camera & didn't take any further pictures the entire weekend, but last Saturday, my friends from work & I had what we called a "VAD Team Building Exercise". We went shopping in Conway & had lunch at the Marketplace Grill then that night, grilled out & sipped on peach bellini's & sangria. I'm so thankful for co-workers who are also great friends & that we are able to enjoy each other at work & away from the office too!
***
This weekend has been very uneventful & I LOVED it! Its so nice not having anything to do sometimes! My sisters Jamie & Brandy, Jamie's bf Quin, my niece Ginger, & my Nana came over to play dominoes...we only played 2 rounds of Mexican Train before the party poopers (Blake & Quin) decided they didn't like that game & quit. So, we built domino trains instead! Ha!
Sawyer looked at Auto Trader with Uncle Q...
Then laid on a pallet with his sisters :)

SUYL - Kitchen

I'm linking up with Kelly's Korner again this week to show you my kitchen!

This is a view of the kitchen...
We love all things red, white & Razorback so that is kind of the theme here! The kitchen is open to the living room which I love...but I'd love it even more if I could double the size of the space. Who doesn't want a bigger kitchen?!?
I've got various Razorback accessories & pictures of us @ football games displayed on the counters...
My sister took the sweet picture of Sawyer when he was 3 weeks old wearing his knit Razorback hat & diaper cover...
We added this pantry a year or so ago to have more cabinet space...
I purchased this razorback at an antique shop a couple of years ago. I love him!
I have some greenery that belongs on top of the cabinets to tie it all together...but I haven't put it back out since Christmas decorations came down. I'm on top of things, really ;)
I painted the "Barnett's" canvas above & also the one pictured below by the kitchen table with the Razorback & the Arkansas Fight Song.
 WPS!!!

SUYL - Living Room

I am so excited to finally have a chance to link up with the Show Us Your Life series over at Kelly's Korner blog. Every Friday, Kelly posts a topic & her followers (she has THOUSANDS!) are able to add a link to their own blogs where they have published a post about that topic. Lots & lots of bloggers participate in SUYL so its a great place to get ideas for anything & everything - food, decorating, parenting, parties & even dating!
For the next several weeks, the theme for SUYL is Tour of Homes....first up is the living room!

This is a view of our living room from the entry. We recently had our carpet pulled up in this area and had this new floor laid - it looks like hardwood, but it is actually porcelain tile! I absolutely love that I have the look of hardwood flooring but the durability of tile. While it was being installed, my husband scratched a scrap piece of tile with a lawn mower blade & it didn't leave a mark! With two big dogs in the house & a baby, its nice not to worry about scratches & spills ruining the floor.  It makes the room look much larger & the house just feels cleaner with the carpet gone. The only negative thing I can say is, it's too bad we don't own stock in Swiffer Sweeper ;)
An open floor plan was a must when we built our house 4 years ago. This is the bar looking into the kitchen. I purchased these bar stools from Target last year.
Here's the TV wall with the back door there on the left. I'm not satisfied at all with the shelving underneath the TV, but I haven't found a piece of furniture the right height & width that I like to go there just yet. I'm considering having something custom built, but for now this will do.
It's about time for the baby swing to go because we rarely ever use it. When its gone, I will put an accent chair in its place. The canvases behind the swing were custom made from photos we took of these tornado fountain things we saw in Las Vegas last year.
We bought this furniture about a year and a half ago. A local furniture store was having a sale one weekend & we went to look for a new recliner...
...we purchased a new recliner AND this crazy couch & ottoman set. The picture doesn't do it much justice but our couch is truly lime green! I really do love it though because it is so unique & comfortable & it matches the big canvas above that was in the room previously.
This wall above the couch is no where near complete. I just got these photo canvases recently & we put them on existing nails in the wall just for the sake of hanging them up. My friends & I are making a trip to Home Goods this weekend, so I'm hoping to find some things to help fill the space & I have a few Pintrest ideas in mind as well. I'll post an update when its complete.
This is by far the best accessory in the living room...
Hope you all have a great weekend!
