Midweek Randoms

We've made it through Wednesday!!
My cohorts & I treated ourselves to an afternoon cupcake today!
{KR with a Nutter Butter, JRay & I with Oatmeal Cream Pies}
Sawyer had an afternoon treat too! My sister text me this picture during their outing to Salem Dairy Bar. Yum!
I had the bright idea to sign SB up for swimming lessons. They haven't been going so great. This dark cloud represents our evenings at swimming lessons.
{I may or may not have prayed for rain & lightening from those clouds to cancel lessons the past 2 nights. No luck.}
We have a hummingbird feeder right outside our kitchen window this year. There are 2 little birds that we watch fight over the feeder every night while we eat supper. They go back & forth from the feeder to our hibiscus tree all evening long! So fun to watch!
I'm so glad tomorrow is August 1st! Fall is my favorite time of year. I've purchased 2 fun fall items so far...
red beads to wear while cheering on the Hogs & this cute duck outfit arrived today!
30 days until football season!! WPS!

Dallas Trip

Hubs & I took a fun little trip to Dallas this weekend. It was so hard leaving our Sawyer boy behind, but he was in excellent hands with J-Pa & Dee!
First stop, as you can see, was probably the most anticipated!
You are missing out if you have never had an In-N-Out burger! They are deeeee-licious!
I went all out and got the "double double" with onion, Blake's has no onion.
YouOnlyLiveOnce right?
After lunch we went to Top Golf.
OUR.NEW.FAVORITE.PLACE.
So, its a 3 level driving range. Blake chose to be on the ground level because its more natural. You are assigned a bay when you check in. Each bay is private & has either patio furniture or a bar height table, each of which sits 6 people.
A waiter/waitress is assigned to your bay & there is a full restaurant menu,
so you can order food & drinks while you play. You pay to play by the hour.
This is the field, and you earn points depending on where your GPS equipped ball lands. The balls are dispensed automatically with a wave of your club!
I won't be wearing a green jacket anytime soon...
...Blake on the other hand, is very good at golf!
My little sister says when he goes pro he has to change his name to "Leopard" ;)
After golf, we got checked in to the hotel & enjoyed free drinks
in the lobby before going out for dinner.

Saturday morning, while waiting for the Pilk's to arrive,
we decided to go back for more golf!
We are determined to bring Top Golf to Arkansas!!!
We met the Pilk's in Frisco for lunch then did some serious shopping at Ikea!!
Jessica was prepared & had a list of things she was on a mission to find, and crossed most things off. I, however, was winging it! Ha! We picked up a few things for Sawyer, some picture frames, & new down pillows for our bed. We looked a several pieces of furniture, but since we were unprepared and didn't measure at home, we didn't leave with any big items.
Saturday night we got dressed for dinner & wouldn't you know...
Jessica & I wore the exact same thing!!! Ha!
Great minds think alike &&&& have great taste!!
We were called cute & asked if we were twins by an old lady, & when people would give us crazy looks, we would start talking about the faux wedding were in. Ha!
Such a fun little weekend getaway with hubs & our precious friends!!
Thank goodness for technology so we could say "nite nite" & "good morning" to this sweet face
each day & give 1,001 virtual kisses!

Midweek Randoms

Sawyer Blake has been obsessed with his blue chair lately. He drags it all over the house & likes to sit in it when he has a snack or a drink. Or to watch tv or read a book. Ha! I Snapped these photos today, the first was this morning while I was getting ready for work. The other tonight after supper.
Speaking of supper...this was mine tonight.
BE JEALOUS. VERY JEALOUS.

Shrimp & Gouda Grits with a homegrown tomato for dessert. Yum!

Does anyone watch Disney Jr. at night time with their tots? We do. They have these "Disney Shorts" that come on in between shows & one of them is a cooking lady.
Well, I can't stand her. There is just something about her that annoys me. Maybe its because she cooks "cauliflower steaks" & pretends its super delicious.

Sawyer's big boo boo of the week is a mysterious one. It appears to be an un-witnessed ear pinching. Really, we are not sure what happened. Blake was out front watering the plants & I left Saw in the living room to go get something from the bedroom & 2 seconds later heard a "thud". I ran into the hallway and saw SB running from the front door back in to the living room screaming.
We did some CSI in the entry way and all we could figure was that he somehow opened & shut either the front door or the closet door on his ear. It looks worse now, like the entire top of his ear is black & blue. Boys.

I was so happy to get some baby Sam lovins' today & visit with his momma.
Clearly he wasn't as happy as I was.

Holding this little {big} guy gives me baby fever. A really, really low-grade fever. ;)

Happy Midweek!
Tomorrow is my Friday!

Midweek Randoms

I'm linking up this week
(and hopefully every week)
for Midweek Randoms!

My good friend & co-worker Katie finally had her baby last week...and a BIG baby boy he was! 9lbs 14oz of pure preciousness!! Sawyer & Sam are sure to be the best of friends before we know it! :)
Last night around 9:30, I was laying in bed watching tv with Sawyer, when I heard lots of car doors slamming & yelling in the street next to & behind our house. I went out in our back yard to see what all the ruckus was & overheard a woman screaming on her phone to someone that her son was missing! I freaked out a bit, but went around out front to see what was going on & if I could do anything to help. She told me her son had been fishing nearby with another neighborhood boy and neither of them had returned home when it got dark about an hour earlier. She had already called the cops & I could hear lots of people in the area calling out the boys name. TERRIFYING!! The cops arrived very quickly and after about 5 minutes the two boys came riding down the street on their bikes!! SO THANKFUL they were ok....at least until they got home to their upset momma's!!

We got off to a late start planting our garden, but we are finally starting to see some produce!! Good thing too since Saw is such a huge fan of tomatoes!
Sawyer has been taking his diaper off every chance he gets. A couple of times he's done so, he's had potty time in the floor. :/ As much as I'm not ready for it, I'm taking that as our cue to start potty training. We'll see. Any toddler boy training tips would be appreciated!

Poor Randy Travis. Even though his bodyguard was rather unfriendly to my brother & I when we asked for an autograph long ago at a restaurant in Hot Springs, I grew up listening to him & I feel sad that he's so sick. When my pals at work & I heard he needed an LVAD, we put a plea out on social media for him to come to us ;)

I just read tonight he has suffered a stroke....lots of prayers for him and his family. :(

I, am a Candy Crush addict. I have no time to play during the day...but at night when all my people are sleeping...I stay up entirely too late.

Have a great rest of the week!

Fourth of July

Once again, I was the lucky person on call for the 4th of July holiday...but that didn't stop us from having a GREAT day!!
We spent the morning at a neighbor's pool with friends and family, then ate lunch at Blake's parents.
Late that afternoon, we went to the Pilks' for more food, fun & fireworks!!
Sawyer fell asleep on the way and stayed asleep for quiet a while!
Miss Addie covered him up with her pirate "blankie".
 Sweet loves watching the fireworks.
"The daddies put on a great show!" :)

Fireworks & the 4th of July are my #1 faves, so I'm super glad
Saw loved the fireworks & wasn't scared!
I let him get in on a little *closely supervised* sparkler action!
So thankful to live in the USA, for all our freedoms & for the men & women
who make that possible!!
We obviously clean up super great for 4th of July photos! Ha!
